Packaging with Purpose: Our Mission to Reduce Waste

When it comes to sustainability, there is always a lot to consider, and it's not easy at all.

As part of our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint, we're constantly searching for ways to provide more sustainable packaging. However, we always face challenges in finding a balance between providing a good unboxing experience for you all while minimizing waste.

The first challenge is the packaging box. We understand the joy of receiving a beautifully designed box to unbox your order, but making it sustainable is kinda headache for us. To address this, we use FSC-certified materials, which means that the wood fibers used to produce our boxes come from responsibly managed forests that promote reforestation and the replanting of trees. Deforestation is a significant environmental issue in today's world, with an average of 10 million hectares of forest lost annually between 2015 and 2020 - that's an area roughly the size of Switzerland each year. Although our volume may not be large enough to cause a significant impact for the time being, we believe that every baby step counts in an effort to reduce our environmental footprint.

We also put some effort into designing our packaging boxes to make them reusable for parents to store their kid's toys. To make the design versatile, we use a cream-white background that can match most furniture colors.

Our canvas pouch bag is crafted using a fabric that has been certified by GRS, which ensures that the materials used are environmentally friendly and socially responsible. The fabric is a blend of recycled polyester and organic cotton, making it a great option for recycling and reusing.

So, you all might be wondering what GRS is. GRS stands for Global Recycle Standard. If the fabric is GRS certified, it means that recycled input materials are traceable, and environmental management practices and social responsibility are considered. The certification ensures that your supplier is using recycled polyester as claimed.

The second challenge is a thank-you card. Expressing gratitude is an important part of our packaging. We're always grateful for those supporting us. So thank-you card is a must-have when it comes to packaging to show our gratitude. To make it more meaningful, we have decided to use seed cards that are made from recycled paper with small seeds attached. You can plant the card and watch it grows with adequate water and sunlight. While we cannot guarantee that the seed card will germinate due to the laser printing process that may affect the seed itself, at least the entire card is made from recycled paper.

Although we're just a startup, we're always looking for ways to make our packaging more sustainable, including improving how we ship our products from manufacturers. It's not easy but we believe there is always a way to reduce carbon footprint.
